If you decide to stay on a bit after the rour, here are some extra-curricular activities: Hike to the “Mini Adam’s Peak” of Ella’s Little Adam’s Peak at Sunrise: While Adam’s Peak is a famous, strenuous overnight pilgrimage, Little Adam’s Peak offers a much more accessible and equally rewarding hike. The walk is relatively easy and takes you through lush tea plantations, culminating in a stunning panoramic sunrise view of the Ella Valley. It’s a peaceful and breathtaking alternative to the more demanding treks.

Yala National Park is famous for its leopards, but it can be incredibly crowded. Wilpattu, on the other hand, is Sri Lanka’s largest national park and is far less frequented. Its landscape is characterized by natural sand-rimmed lakes (villus) and dense forest, making it a spectacular place to spot leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and a huge variety of birds without the jeeps-in-a-row feeling of other parks.
