Rock ‘n’ roll, baby. Those of us who remember Rock ‘n’ roll . . . y’know. Guitars, flying Hammond organs, Lamborghinis, an endless supply of booze and babes and as many mansions as you had on your hands and your feet. That’s what its all about. “Everyone tells me I had a good time.”
In the meantime, us minions paid what seemed to be the price of a human kidney back then to see our heroes. (the 1970’s mostly) And our cold hard cash went a long way to sponsor and enable our favorite rockers to have an endless supply of Ferraris, helicopters and luxury homes on pretty much every continent. Were we jealous at the time? Noooo. Did we wish we could even walk by the mansions of our rock gods? Yes, of course.
Did we, though? Almost never, but we’re here to say that it’s not too late. Not only can you walk past one of these temples, you might actually be able to go inside and have a sniff around, if you’re brave / insane enough. But, to be sure, this is not for the weak, nor not for the week. It may not even be there anymore.
It’s better knowing that you’ll be walking the hallowed path of Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan. Can you imagine that? It’s everything that you’d expect from a rock god, only this place could use a lick of paint. Read more here. but cover your eyes. Blecch!
In 1995 a couple named Svenia and Paul Franklin obtained the stately pile and transmogrified it into a 32-bedroom hotel called The Springs. Pictured: a mold-covered hotel book and local area guidebook have been left to decay on a mattress inside. Once again, total rock!
One hardy couple tried to bring it back to life. Svenia and Paul Franklin owned the The Springs for several years, but the hotel was in business for only 19 years, and there it lies now. Does it sound like something you’d want to take on? Well, you don’t have to. Instead, stay at the The Springs Resort & Golf Club. Click here to book.

Could be worse. Could be raining. Most of modern rock and roll is a product of guilt.
