Sleeping village

This article will either make you shake with fright, long for your teenage years   . .  or both.

Designers are clever, especially when it comes to transforming something simple and relaxing into the stuff of nightmares.  It doesn’t take much, and our imaginations have a tendency to run away from reality, especially when you desire that.

And, when you’re that age, you can still let your mind go free to battle with the demons and wizards.  But eventually, you let all of that go.  But it doesn’t make it any less real

Especially when you can go and face your nightmare, up close and personal.  Which is what you can do here.  You know the place.  Behind the wall of sleep.  There resides the Wizard . . of Oz.

Anyway, back to reality.  In the middle if bucolic England sits Mapledurham Watermill.  Looks familiar?  An historic watermill in the civil parish of Mapledurham in the English county of Oxfordshire,  the mill was built in the 15th century. It was also the stuff of nightmares for teenagers in the 1970’s.

And, of course, you can visit and we can show you around.  See below.

You may want to leave your capes at home. And Ozzie would likely approve.
