Sea all that you can see.

Nude cruises. In all of our years traveling, enjoying a cruise here and there (and even offering them to you through our affiliate friends) we have never encountered – nee – never even heard of the concept and execution of nude cruises. I’m sitting here, completing this post to see how well I can do at not looking tame or lame or, alternately, not throwing others in a tizzy. Everyone has their own opinion.

If you’re a puritan or just behind the times, let us bring us all up to speed (or speedos.) Also often referred to as clothing-optional cruises or naturist cruises, they are voyages where passengers have the option, or in designated areas the expectation, to be unclothed. These are typically organized by specialized charter companies that buy out entire ships from mainstream cruise lines for a specific sailing, ensuring that all passengers on that particular trip are part of the clothing-optional experience.

They should soundly be looked at askance with those passengers who go too far, and usually end up locked up in one of the “budget” cabins. We, as a rule, go with the flow. To each their own. A good time was had by all, or “everyone tells me I had a good time”. Enjoy!

These are generally focused on body acceptance, freedom, and a non-sexual connection to nature. They are often open to individuals, couples, and sometimes even families (though children are typically restricted to adult ages, like 21+, on most charters). While nudity is prevalent, overt sexual behavior is strictly prohibited in public areas. Passengers are usually required to be clothed in dining rooms and when the ship is docked in port. Hey ho! Man overboard! The choice is yours. Don’t be late. Read the whole post here.
