Here are some other reasons why cash should be king when you travel. Using cash can make it easier to stick to your budget. When you physically see your money decreasing, you’re often more mindful of your spending.
Foreign transaction fees on credit or debit cards can add up. Cash eliminates these fees. Some smaller businesses, especially in certain countries, may charge extra for card transactions.
Many small vendors, markets, and local shops, particularly in less tourist-heavy areas, may only accept cash. Finally, cash is often the preferred method for tipping service providers like tour guides, taxi drivers, and restaurant staff. It makes sense, doesn’t it?
