Poland is an overlooked European gem

Having lived in Europe for a number of years, some of us here at Matouring have been fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the pleasures not only visiting the large and well-known locations such as Rome and Paris, but also some of the so-called second-tier places such as Poland, Finland and Hungary.

Of course, it is a disservice calling them second-tier, because they are anything but that. Even in the “worst of times”, these towns, cities and villages have always had so much to offer.

This article discusses Poland, still in many ways a hidden gem to many people. But, Poland is thriving, young and vibrant. There are so many things to do there that one article is typically not enough. But this one is a good start.

Given that Poland is still establishing its reputation on the international stage, its potential as a vacation destination tends to be overlooked by Europe-bound tourists, many of whom never make it further east than Berlin. But for those willing to carry on to this budget-friendly location (the złoty conversion leans heavily in favor of the dollar/pound/euro) there’s plenty to experience, much which will set your Instagram gird apart from the #Paris #Rome #London circuit so many travelers favor. 

The best place to start enjoying Poland is Kraków
