Let’s look at some funny city names from North America. They include Chicken, Alaska, named because residents couldn’t spell “ptarmigan,” and Hell, Michigan, a town that embraces its humorous name.
Other notable examples are Ding Dong, Texas, named after bells on a sign for a store, and Accident, Maryland, whose residents are ironically called “Accidentals” Many North Americans think that they have the patent on this kind of shenanigans, but, no surprise, they’re not the only ones. Peor es nada (worse is nothing) and it’s a really beautiful little town next to a huge reservoir. Super ironic.
