Pack your bags, kids!

We’re going on a road trip!

There are some days where we can barely muster the energy to just pop down to the corner store to get a carton of milk, especially with today’s commuting options. It’s no secret that we love rail, but even that makes us groan with the wall-to-wall passengers on the train. It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact number of people who use trains for local commuting globally, but it’s estimated that billions of journeys are taken annually on trains worldwide for all purposes, including local commuting

Data indicates a rising trend in rail ridership, with significant numbers relying on trains for daily travel, particularly in major cities and densely populated areas.  Flying, of course, is likely the fastest way to “get there” but that’s not practical, and it’s expensive. So, in many situations, travelers are in a pickle, of sorts, and you simply have no choice but to drive. For some, this seems like a calling, a destination, and you can have it.

Now, to the point of the post, if you were rich enough and daft enough to want to do it, what would be the coup de gras when it comes to the longest road? There is an answer The longest drivable distance in the world is generally considered to be the Pan-American Highway, stretching from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to Ushuaia, Argentina, a distance of approximately 19,000 miles (30,000 kilometers), according to Guinness World Records. This highway traverses through North, Central, and South America, passing through 14 countries.

Is it possible to live a family life while traveling? How much does it really cost to maintain this lifestyle on the road in Africa? In this video, we show you how much we spent and how much we earned over the last three months of travel. We break down all the numbers: from the actual cost of fuel, food, and mechanics, to revenue from YouTube, affiliates, and collaborations.
