Those were different times. Many moons ago, your editor – still green and wet behind the ears – was invited by the girlfriend at the time to go stay at her parents’ timeshare on Marco Island, in the Everglades in Florida. It was a capacious place, with more rooms than anyone needs really, even today.
But at the time it was easy to get lost inside. Without a doubt, the long weekend was a rather romantic experience. Fast forward to today. She is long out of the picture and your editor is now blessed with the most amazing woman on the planet, next to Mother Theresa.
So imagine smoke pouring out of my ears, my brain trying to remember what Marco Island was like and a brochure (via email) appeared beckoning me to discover the wonders of Marco Island, or re-discover as it happens.
That’s easy enough to consider, but firing up long-dormant brain cells is something else entirely. So please join / assist me on this stroll down memory lane.
And, speaking of that, Marco Island really does have a lot going on. It’s a star of Florida and it shines. First of all, it’s world renowned for its pristine beaches, first-class resorts, and upscale dining scene, Marco Island offers a peaceful and sophisticated environment perfect for couples seeking tranquility. Step outside of your accommodations and enjoy a full menu of outdoor activities, such as fishing, boating, golfing, kayaking, and nature walks, all within easy reach.
Throwing down a blanket on the sand and doing nothing at all is a rather beguiling option, as well. And given the fact that this part of the beach may not be “hip,” it’s all yours!
