No pain, no plane.

…. how to sleep on a plane. For us, anyway, one of the most soul-sucking and dreadful (with the emphasis on dread) activities is flying. Unless you’re wealthy, or an internet influencer / sensation, where everything is amazing, you can smell the dread before you even step on to the tarmac. But, to be clear and fair, this has very little to do with the airlines nor their marvelous and indefatigable crews in the air.

This has to do with one thing: the plane’s seats, themselves. Ugh. Sure, we know that safety is always first – the seats are made for safety – but do they have to be so uncomfortable?? Is there not a middle ground? If only someone could find a way of making even the cheapo seats livable, then maybe we would be seeing less of these modern-day “outbursts” that are so fashionable in today’s TikTok Facebook universe. As if . But, there may be some solace in learning about what ergonomics experts have to say about this. There may be hope.

Common sense should be your best friend when you book, but here are some sensible recommendations to combat the origami that is today’s air travel. 1. Choose an isle Seat: Offers more legroom and easier access to the restroom. 2. Window Seat: Allows you to lean against the wall and avoid disturbances from other passengers. 3. Exit Row Seats: Usually have more legroom, but may come with responsibilities during emergencies. 4. Drink plenty of water to counteract the dry cabin air. 5. Avoid excessive alcohol and caffeine, which can dehydrate you.
