. . . is calling you. Well. It’s not a secret anymore. The BBC gets access to a secret room under the Medici Chapel in Florence, where Michelangelo took refuge during political upheaval. The small chamber, covered in his sketches, has opened to the public recently and offers a rare glimpse into the artist’s mind.
The small 10×3 meter room was Michelangelo’s refuge between June and October 1530. Actually, Michelangelo had to hide from the guards of Pope Clement VII, a Medici’s Pope, angry with him for his republican leanings.
