Marrakech Express /  Moroccan Rolls

We’re always super-excited when we have a chance to big-up the virtues and benefits of rail travel. In so many advanced countries around the world, it’s just an everyday kind of thing. But, if you’re awake, you’ll know that rail is making huge strides as a form of transport elsewhere, as the world starts to kiss regular cars goodbye.

So, here we go: another post about rail. You know how much we love it, but this one is especially exciting, as it’s all about the rail experience in Morocco. You may have not given much though about rail in that part of the planet, but if you have, wait until you see what you’re missing. The country is pouring money into making rail one of the premier ways to travel there. Good thinking, Morocco!

Chris and Carol, proprietors of the always adventuresome, always chilled, always kind and comprehensive YouTube channel, Jumping Places, took a sidestep away from their beloved beaches and booked a tour of Morocco, but this time they plumped to take Morocco’s splendid bullet train.

Not only is it fairly new, it’s also impressive as a mode of transport. Watch the video above and marvel at how almost all of the planet travels: ditch the cars and take the train! The Middle East and Africa is witnessing a significant shift towards rail transport as a preferred mode of transportation. Several factors contribute to this trend.

As ever, rail offers a sustainable and scalable solution to accommodate growing populations and urban expansion. Governments in the region are investing heavily in rail infrastructure projects, building new lines, and modernizing existing networks.

Marrakech has had rail as a part of its everyday life for decades. No news here, but good news.
