Another European-focused post for you, and this one steps into the focus in that it isn’t a travel article, per se, but it certainly affects those who wish to visit the continent. If you’re a European citizen, you can also disregard the topic; you’re exempt from the conversation just by the fact that you’re European. (lucky you!)
So, what is the subject and what is the matter, then? The 90-day rule means that non-EU citizens can only stay within the Schengen Area for 90 days out of every rolling 180. But with many (over 500,000 households) Brits (and others) owning a second home in Spain, this limit can be frustrating. There are ways to overcome the rule (being super rich for example) But, for the rest of us, it’s a pain and a disappointment. However, Spain’s acting Tourism Minister Héctor Gómez is campaign for for a change to the rule. France is also lobbying for this rule to change. If you have the cash, a digital nomad visa might be the ticket for you.
