Iceland is Niceland

Is Iceland one of those places that has been on your list for forever, but you’ve never quite managed to make the leap? For some, the hesitation in going might be down to uncertainty as to what the country is like. For example, do they speak English? (Yes they do – almost everywhere.) What is there to do there? Loads, especially if you like the outdoors. But, being a vegetarian can be a bit tricky. Keep that in mind.

How do I get there? Is it safe? These are real and valid questions. So, having been there ourselves, we can safely say that it is an awe-inspiring place, but it isn’t without its idiosyncrasies. Your editor and his partner planned the whole trip ourselves: know that it was a bit tricky, and she is a wizard when it comes to this.

So, if you’re not the DIY adventuresome type, a better solution is a tour. Our affiliate friends, Titan Travel have some dandy tours that will help you fall in love with Iceland without any of the hiccups.

How many otherworldly sights can you see in five days? On this introduction to the ‘Land of Fire and Ice’ the tour keep a nightly watch for the magical Northern Lights, while seeing snow-capped volcanoes, crashing waterfalls and magnificent glaciers by day.

You will marvel at the Strokkur fountain geyser, sometimes 30m high. Relax in the silky waters of the Blue Lagoon. And in the capital, Reykjavík, you’ll witness the enormous Hallgrímskirkja (Church of Hallgrímur), a unique landmark in a country brimming with surprises.

Our Iceland short breaks are fantastic for first-time visitors to this beautiful island. A tour like this is unforgettable – believe us – but why not treat yourself and let someone else carry your bags. Rest assured that you will always remember this tour.
