Horses for courses . . .

. . . of course. Well, that didn’t take long to catch on fire (in the best way.) We’re talking about Apple’s runaway hit Slow Horses. Featuring the incomparable Gary Oldman and a stellar cast of British stars, this series captures a rather dingy side of London and some of the “characters” who call it home. This is not where the King lives. You won’t see much in the way of royalty at all . . . just ill manners and bad behavior from the top down. Hilarious at nearly every bend (with more than a dash of violence) it’s a tour de force (with the emphasis on force) that melts into a whodunit that will make your head spin. Situated in the vaguely named “Slough House”, the series is a must-see. Funny, rude, unpredictable with more than a bit of violence, it’s one of the best things we’ve seen in years.

If you’ve seen the series, you’ll know what we mean. But, just months away from the close of the show, there are already real-life activities that you can enact as if you were part of the cast. Could this be Slough House? Who even knows? Either way, this is a part of London that you won’t likely partake alone: the more the merrier, we say. PS: there actually is a place called Slough just outside of London.
