Every so often, and not so often that it seems like nepotism, we like to individually feature our affiliate friends, especially if they’re new or not as well-known as those with the big names and the big budgets. It’s also an opportunity for us to get smarter so that you can too. When your editor thinks back to the 1970’s when I was just a “lad,” travel choices were limited and slim.
There was the “hegemony” of airlines like United, American, Eastern, TWA, and United, Northwest and Western. And those were just the US airlines. Europe was pretty well covered with Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Sabena, but don’t forget Royal Dutch Airlines. SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System), and Alitalia.

Some of the aforementioned list of providers were aspirational for most of us. Those with smaller budgets had to make do with whatever local or regional airlines had to offer. As it transpired, some of those budget regional carriers were saviors, as flying became not so much a dream, but a pinch-me moment.

Jump to today and you’ll see that the playing field has altered drastically, and for the better. Better planes, better routes and better prices make flying “the only way to go” in many instances. Which brings us to the subject of this post. Wizz Airlines. If you live in Europe, Wizz is likely a regular for you. But did you also know that they also are more than just Wizz? stylized as W!ZZ, is a Hungarian ultra low-cost carrier group headquartered in Budapest, Hungary. The company includes subsidiaries Wizz Air Hungary, Wizz Air Malta, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, and Wizz Air UK. Have another look at the subsidiaries’ names. Wizz gets around.

We’re also pleased to say that Wizz fleet is primarily consisting of Airbus A320 family aircraft, including A320, A321, and A321neo models. That’s something in itself. You can’t lose: you’ll always win. Click here
