…especially if you’re from the UK. Due to Brexit, those travelers from England, Scotland and Wales will now need to pay a fee and fill in additional paperwork starting this year in order to enter Europe legally.
Why? The rules around freedom of movement have changed following the UK’s departure from the EU. Those from the UK travelling to EU member countries in the Schengen Area will now be required to pay a €7 (or £5.88) fee starting this year, as they will now be considered like any other non-EU citizen.
UK travelers will also have to record their information before being allowed entry into one of these countries. €7 or £5.88 may not seem like a lot, but it can add up if you have a large family and / or travel frequently.
