Despite its 24-hour party people mantra, Las Vegas has not escaped the wreckage that is Covid-19.
When the pandemic arrived, the economic shutdown hit Las Vegas harder than any other major city in America — and the impact rippled far beyond the famous Strip. Economist Jeremy Aguero described the local job losses as staggering, with the highest unemployment rates ever reported by a state since 1976, when the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking this data, CBS News Reports.
But, there is one shining light – Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, the reimagined casino resort, will make its long-anticipated debut in Las Vegas on March 25, 2021, two months after its original opening was delayed by the pandemic.
The former Hard Rock Hotel & Casino also is opening with no resort fees, complimentary self-parking and Wi-Fi, which will be available throughout the resort and in the over 1,500 rooms. (See promotional video above.)
