E kala mai!

There’s some trouble bubbling in Hawaii, but it’s not the volcanos. And it’s not you lovely tourists. It’s all about bare knuckles competition between two airlines who want your business on the islands.

For decades, Hawaiian Airlines has been the heir apparent, with little or no competition. They’ve done a good job serving the citizens of the islands and, for the most part, there have never been reasons to look elsewhere. As they say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

But now, another supplier has its eyes on the Hawaiian market, and that competitor is not one to be trifled with. It’s Southwest Airlines. As it happens, Southwest has been hemorrhaging money in its attempts to get a foot hold. Watch the video below to understand the situation, as if you’re an islands lover, this could be a big deal for you and for Hawaii.

If you’re an islands lover, this could be big for you. Nothing like a little competition, eh?
