Not far from Salisbury, UK is a ruin called Old Sarum. Once grand and formidable, it is now a curious and somewhat sad example of where the rich stay rich and the poor . . well, you know.
It’s very much worth a visit, if for nothing else the grandeur of its impressive ruins.
