Disappearance of Jim Thompson.

This rather mysterious tale is one riddled with intrigue, loose ends and no real solution. It starts in Malaysia where business entrepreneur Jim Thompson. Thompson was an American businessman who is renowned for reviving the Thai silk industry in the 1950s and 1960s.

Thompson was born in the United States in 1906. He graduated from Princeton University and later served in the US Army during World War II. After the war, he settled in Thailand and became fascinated by the local silk weaving traditions. He saw an opportunity to modernize and promote Thai silk to the international market.

In addition to his business success, Thompson was also a significant collector of Southeast Asian art and antiquities. He built a traditional Thai-style house in Bangkok, which became a popular attraction and a showcase for his collections. Come home, Jim. It’s time.

Despite all of this success, Thompson’s life took a mysterious turn in 1967 when he disappeared while on a trip to Malaysia. Despite extensive searches, no trace of him was ever found, and his fate remains unknown.

His disappearance has been the subject of much speculation and intrigue, adding to the mystique surrounding his name. If intrigue is your middle name, you can visit his home and, perhaps, piece the solution together. Happily, you can visit Jim’s home and see if you can piece together the story.
