Crash course: driving in Europe.

We’ll keep this one simple, as the intent is to have fun by simply tottering or careening around corners on European roads. The important thing about the roads in Europe is that you had better be on the ball while driving there: they don’t suffer fools, and they do love their speed limits.

In many locations there are signs showing the limit of speeds up to 120 km/ph and on most main routes, there are signs nowadays clearly limiting the speed to 100 km/ph during the day (from 07:00 till 19:00 hours) At times, they use these limits to reduce vehicle emissions, especially with luxury vehicles and trucks. The Maximum highway speeds of 120 or 130 km/h are quite typical in Europe. But don’t think that you have carte blanche to rip up the sidewalks. Wear your big boy pants when you drive on the Continent.

What’s ironic at times is how fast you can fly on Germany’s autobahn, and then compare it to some of the same roads in, say, Italy. So, if you’re planning to tackle the fast and the slow, the wild and the mild, watch the video below, starting with Italy.

After that mild adventure in sensible luxury, now have a look at what happens on Germany’s autobahn. Talk about a 180° flip. Strap yourself in and take a little ride with the German police. They totally know what they’re doing and would rather take you for a ride than for a spin. Watch below and . . . behave!
