These days, we get the feeling that, due to some countries and their so-called leaders, the rest of the world is on pins and needles. Just what we need is more war, right? Every so often, though, there are rays of sunshine that break through to shine a light on simple goodness. Jumping to a place that we like very much, Colombia, we were hoping to see that the country would take a different path in these troubled times. Luckily, Colombians are peaceful as a rule and generally much walk a different path.

Your editor had always thought that Colombia never really needed machines like fighter jets and the like. And, that’s the way it’s been for quite a while. The only arms that were needed were those to hug your loved ones. This leads up to my loved one, who has lived in Colombia, and it was now that I realised that the country does indeed have fighter jets, and have for a very long time. And, even more surprising, they’re buying a new fleet of Colombia’s new fighter will be the Saab Gripen E/F. Saab are Swedish and so, generally peaceful as well; they rarely need to use them. But they do have them on site in plane (geddit) sight in the rather snazzy Colombian Air Force Museum. The air force itself has 25,000 active personnel 276 aircraft
