The UK monarchy is never short of publicity, whether they like it or not. And notoriety via Netflix and other media giants only fuels the fire. Even though we – to this day – collectively think of the Royals as being an entitled and stuffy bunch, the truth is that’s not the case (and is the same for Royals in many other countries, as well.) Princess Diana brought a bold new way of thinking for the venerable family, and even though she is no longer with us, her legacy of giving and sharing still lives on.
To whit, son Prince Harry, The Duke Of Sussex, in September 2019, formed a travel consortium known as Travalyst, where he has done the unthinkable and managed to form a group of major travel competitors to think big and thing long range about sustainable travel in future. Expedia has recently joined.
Expedia Group will join competitors Booking Holdings, Trip.com Group, Skyscanner, Tripadvisor, as well as Google and Visa.
Travalyst is excited about the addition of Expedia Group to the group, seeing that the depth and breadth of Expedia and its family of brands (Vrbo, Expedia, Hotels.com, Orbitz, Travelocity etc) will give Travalyst some real teeth.
We applaud this communal and egalitarian approach to chipping away at the 19th century travel model that exists to this day. And, we’re proud that the vendors above are on our list of valued affiliates, as well.
