Beamish? Don’t be squeamish.

Nor Squamish, for that matter: Have fun wherever you go! Let’s visit Beamish. Beamish is located in County Durham, in the northeast of England. It is a small village situated about halfway between the larger cities of Durham and Newcastle upon Tyne.

Beamish is a destination for fun because it is home to Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, an open-air museum that brings the history of the region to life. It’s not a traditional museum with exhibits behind glass; it’s a completely immersive experience where visitors can step back in time. A Living, Working Museum: Instead of just looking at artifacts, you can interact with them. You can walk through recreated towns, villages, and farms, all set in different time periods from the 1820s to the 1950s. The staff are in period costumes and are dedicated to showing you what daily life was like.

It’s A Hands-On Experience: You can ride on vintage trams and steam trains, buy traditional sweets from an Edwardian-era shop, visit a working farm, and even go into a recreated coal mine. You know you want to go.

When The Brits are ready to party, stand back and have a blast. I should know, I am one.
