Amtrak Station . . . .

. . . . in the Middle of Nowhere.

Another rail post for you. We’ll keep supplying and highlighting these until the end of time. By then, perhaps humanity will get the hint. What also is frustrating and galling at the same time is how the USA brushes aside its use of rail. For so many residents in America, rail is actually suburban transit and not actually rail in the true sense of the word. America does have rail services, proffered by Amtrak, which operates intercity rail service in 46 of the 48 contiguous U.S. states and three Canadian provinces. PS: Amtrak is a portmanteau of the words America and track.

We here in Canada have access to Amtrak and, despite the endless parade of jibes and pokes and jokes, the AMTRAK service is generally a good one. And, like we said it goes almost anywhere. But we had to scratch our heads when we caught wind of this: Palm Springs Amtrak Station. One lone station, perched and parched in the sun, we salute you. Watch the video above and bask in your rail service, no matter where you live. Happily, our affiliate friends, OMIO, act as agents for Amtrak, so purchasing tickets is a doddle. You can book tickets for Amtrak trains on Omio, including those within the U.S. and potentially routes to Canada.
