Child: Hey, what’s that sound? Father. What sound? Father, oh wait, I know that sound. It’s called silence. It’s been in short supply since social media took over. Child. What is it and how much does it cost, father? Child, it is almost like gold dust and twice as valuable. When you find it, you will never forget and you will do everything in your power to keep it. Treasure, it my child.
Ok, this was a lame attempt at adding some craft and drama to what is actually a rather down-to-earth subject: booking tickets. In this case, it’s airlines. Also in this case it is, once again about Europe. But, give the state of the world on this day, in this month and year (Saturday, June 7, 2025) there are few place on this planet that can still promise quiet, safety and something to remember.

Who knows how long it will last, but at least we know how these prices might last in Europe. Europe’s ‘nowhere place’ is a quiet Italian gem with flights from £17 GBP. We as a business need to keep the lights on, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t share a deal when one appears. Here, we applaud Slovenia. Ever since Slovenia’s star began to rise, tourism in Trieste has also picked up. There’s a thriving food and arts scene, and trendy hotel chain, 25hours, is set to open in the city this year. Newbies, please meet Trieste. an excellent choice for travelers looking to get away from the crowds, especially when compared to Italy’s more famous tourist hubs like Rome, Florence, or Venice. Its unique geographical and historical position gives it a distinct character that naturally deters mass tourism while offering a full and rewarding experience.
Unlike much of Italy, Trieste was historically part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire for centuries, only becoming fully Italian after World War I. This Habsburg legacy gives it a Central European feel (reminiscent of Vienna or Budapest) that is starkly different from classic Italian cities. This unique blend of cultures means it doesn’t fit the typical “Italian vacation” mold, making it less of a magnet for first-time visitors to Italy. Trieste also features Less Tourist-Centric Infrastructure: While it has excellent infrastructure, Trieste doesn’t have the same density of souvenir shops, high-volume tourist traps, or constant tour groups that overwhelm places like Venice. Its primary role is a functioning port city and regional capital, not a tourist theme park.

Another bonus is how relatively inexpensive flying is when heading to Trieste. Our affiliate friends, Expedia have teamed up with Ryanair. It’s a match made in heaven. Low prices, dozens of destinations. Click here
