A basket? A casket?

One of the things (of many) that we love about the British Museum in London (and here online) is how they make history accessible to anyone who deigns to sit down and take a stab at learning. The more you learn, the more fun it becomes. The museum is not stuffy or impenetrable, and the staff there are enlightened, enjoy what they do and will field almost any question with smart and friendly replies.

There’s lots to see and it is worth carving out at least one full day, if not more, to really dig into and savour what they have. The more often you partake in this kind of activity, the more you want to do so. Happily they have also put lots online. This video is a perfect example.

Even better, entry to the Museum itself to view the permanent collection is free. You can’t lose. All visitors (except Members) are advised to book a timed slot in advance click here. Self-led groups of 10 or more people will need to book a group ticket. We also have lots of options for visiting the museum. Click here.

Want to visit in real life? The museum is free, but requires tickets for some exhibits. To book, click here.
