We’ve been to Las Vegas many times and, despite our Puritan feelings of guilt, we never fail to have a good time there. Sure, it’s insane (using that word in its correct context) and OTT (over the top,) and the powers that be there always have a knack to conjure up something new that you just can’t refuse ie: extravagant buffets, and some of them serve over 5,000 meals per day. The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace, for example, offers more than 500 dishes prepared by a team of specialized chefs. And, of course there is The Stratosphere Tower, standing at 1,149 feet (350 meters), is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States. That’s impressive, but Vegas never sleeps – even more than NYC. They’ve got to stay on the ball in order to lure us in for the latest joy. And here it is. The Sphere.
Just a few days ago, The Sphere, a new Las Vegas venue, lit up for a trial run of its LED light display on the Fourth of July, ahead of its official opening in September. The company behind the venue say it’s the world’s largest spherical structure at 516 feet wide and 366 feet tall and will be able to host events for up to 20,000 attendees. Now, it may look impressive, for sure, but wait until the video zooms in on the base of the building. Look at the size of the cars driving next to it. And you may want to curb your alcohol consumption when you finally get inside. We’re confident that you’ll want sure footing when you first see the displays.
Top tip: For probably the best Las Vegas experience, visit Beer Park. Great seats, selection and staff.
