We’re back on a subject here again that we have featured in the past, sustainable living. The question at hand is whether we really need the 12,000 sqft home for two empty nesters, or whether there is a better, simpler way to enjoy our retirement, and also reap the benefits of places new. As we get older, we usually are less spry, the joints and the bones complain and we end up even more tired. The old vicious cycle.
Today we feature (we have others already on Matouring) a rather nifty site / YouTube channel that gives you living, breathing examples on how to downsize, and not lose a thing. Ostensibly, the channel, Never Too Small, is targeted at the young, who may not have the financial resources to undertake a huge build or, more realistically, wish to be part of big-city living (say, Paris or Singapore) without being chained to the frankly ridiculous cost of living that this day and age has encumbered them with.
Today’s example is an architect couple’s small heritage apartment in France 57sqm/613sqft. This might be the best 10 minutes of YouTube that you’ll see in a long time. Get smart: save the planet, save time and save your tired bones. Even better, it is a very short walk to the Fourvière Inclined railway station. And, of course, shops are not far away. Watch these episodes on YouTube and think hard about what your future could look like. It’s not too hard to picture it.
