We’re unashamed tech geeks here at Matouring, and probably our biggest thrill is aircraft. We love flying. Maybe not so much the squeezed seats and no legroom, but more about the aircraft themselves. Since the time of Covid 19, air travel (and most travel, to be fair) plummeted. No-one wanted to be anywhere except in their living room. It was desperate times for the travel industry, and for those who loved to travel.
But, Covid is more or less a horrible nightmare now and demand for travel is through the roof. Travel companies are now struggling again, but instead are trying to satisfy an explosion of demand. Ironically – and that’s what this article is about – is that aircraft that were considered fuel and smoke-belching dinosaurs and once consigned to the deserts, are now being awoken and dusted back into shape and into the air. And this makes us happy, anyway.
Another factor in this re-birth is that troubled Boeing are far behind their projections for their new airliners, which aren’t expected to be ready until 2025 – that is, assuming no further manufacturing problems exist.
