If you visit our site, you’ll know how much we love history, especially since we don’t feel as old once we’ve completed the article. It’s a labour of love. And one can only imagine the labour that was put into building these almost impenetrable edifices, all those hundreds of years ago.
But, castle-building is not a thing of the past: an example being a “modern” nearly completed authentic 13th century castle, using only techniques and materials that were used in the medieval period.
The project, Guedelon Castle commenced in 1997, and it has been nearing its completion since then. Today, it has grown over 55 jobs and is a genuine tourist attraction with more than 300,000 visitors a year.
