You might have heard of Cleveland, Ohio USA, a scrappy city that never gives up. It was formed in the late 1800’s and was a manufacturing and financial powerhouse until things dried up in the 1970’s.
But, the die-hard residents there still plug away at reinventing the city, over and over. Having major league basketball (Lebron James hails from Cleveland) baseball and football teams, as well as a world renowned orchestra, art museum and, of course, The Rock’nRoll Hall of Fame certainly adds a shine to the city.
But, probably the best thing about Cleveland are the “villages” that have arisen from the manufacturing ashes. Places like Tremont, Slavic Village and some of the unassuming favourite hotspots , such as Becky’s (downtown,) Tommy’s on Coventry and any of the West Sixth street offerings.
You might not deliberately go to Cleveland, but you might enjoy it if you do.
