Well, finally! It’s back to the future, kids.
For those of us who were too young or too poor to be able to fly on the sadly-missed Concorde supersonic jet, pay attention. United Airlines have put in a conditional order this week for 15 Overture jets from BOOM Supersonic.
This is a big deal, in more ways than one. We have been hearing about one company after another promising supersonic flight, but most have failed or not yet delivered.
If an airline the size of United is willing to ante up to support this, the whole idea may actually have legs. Fingers crossed.
