The long-accepted queen of the skies, the Airbus A380 is on its way to retirement. And if you want to fly in one, you may want to book your tickets, soon. The same goes for the Boeing 747
The A380 is a modern icon that has flown over 500,000 revenue flights carrying over 190 million passengers. This includes more than 300 commercial flights per day, which take off or land around the world every two minutes.
The last A380 to be built (MSN 272) completed its first flight, heading to the manufacturer’s Hamburg Finkenwerder plant, where Airbus will likely paint it.
More modern aircraft, such as the Boeing 777X, Airbus A321XLR and Airbus A220-500 will take its place. These new aircraft are more economical to operate, and are more fuel efficient.
