So, out of the blue (this pun will come later) we have a post from internet boffin “Nonstop Dan” steps back in time to explore a small, very small airliner that simply made sense. Sun-Air of Scandinavia operates Fairchild Dornier 328JET aircraft, branded as British Airways, on regional European routes. These 32-seat, twin-engine jets connect smaller cities like Billund, Denmark, with destinations such as London City.
The aircraft are known for their small, comfortable 1-2 configuration and, while flying under the BA banner, are operated by the Danish franchise partner. If you’re lucky and play your cards right, you might be able to be one of the few who got to ride this timepiece. In December 2019, a total of 33 Dornier 328JET aircraft remained in airline service. The only operators remaining were Sun Air of Scandinavia with 14 aircraft, Key Lime Air and Ultimate Jetcharters with 14 aircraft combined, Taos Air operated by Advanced Air with 2 aircraft, and Calm Air, Sepehran Airlines, and Air Peace with 1 aircraft each.[33]To go back to the future, Click here.
