Buttlands?

Noooo. It’s Butlins! We’re all about fun. And we’re all about history. Put them together and the fun never stops. There was a period in history where more and more families were seeing more and more money in their bank accounts. This also aligns with them having more children who demanded to be entertained. It’s an endless cycle that most of us know well, and are happy about it. As the volumes of those families grew, the kids wanted more. Smart companies did their level best to meet the demand. Of course Disney immediately springs to mind, of course, but, let’s say in the 1950’s or early 1960’s, Disney may not have been present.

So, companies such as Butlins (in the UK) the subject of this post jumped on the wagon and did their level best to emulate Disney’s mode. War was over, and the country was ready. But, with funds being sparse, what could Butlins do to make it work? They did what any smart company would do: imagine. And it’s been a smashing success ever since. They’ve upgraded, of course, but the model is the same: family first.

The first video, at the top, is somewhat of a retrospective of what was and what is. The second video is smack dab up to date, with a walkthrough with Walk with Me Tim. Watch both. See what you think. Be a kid! Click here.
