Your editor and his better half were watching some You tube videos this morning about Seoul, Korea. Us travelers are so fortunate to have a resource like that to make our travel planning that much easier. Places like Korea and Japan are chock full of content, tips, ideas and planning tools. And, for the most part, it’s all free. But it got me thinking about places that are a bit in the background. The world is full of them, and each and everyone is a potential gem. But how do they rise to the top? And what happens after that?

We’re going to focus on one place in Germany called Duisburg. We reckon that those of you who know Germany or watched German television decades ago will immediately jump to attention.
