Basilicata & Puglia pro rata.

We spend most of our waking hours looking for fun and fascinating activities, stories and offers for our readers. We’ve been fortunate enough to seen much of the planet, and we’re forever grateful for that. As part of operating this website, we spend quite a bit of time trying to find something unusual for our readers. Sometimes this comes in the guise of a place that we’ve never seen, or, alternately, taking some time to revisit places old and new.

Time waits for no-one, as they say. We’ve been to Italy and its surrounds many, many times. We love the country and its people. So, with some excitement, here in this post, we will focus on one of those destinations that, perhaps, doesn’t always get its due: Basilicata & Puglia. And what better way to treat yourself by taking a leisurely tour of these hidden treasures.

Just as a taster, you’ll delve in to Italy’s far south, the two lesser-known regions abound with incredible sights. Discover them on this fantastic holiday and you’ll see everything from Baroque architecture and Roman ruins to distinctive Trulli houses and ancient Sassi cave dwellings.

And if that’s not enough, our optional excursions mean you can do even more if you wish. In between the sightseeing, there’s time to relax and enjoy the facilities at your beautiful hotel that’s set amidst rolling hills and olive groves. Click here to book your tour.

One big draw is that if you’re into history, this is the place: you can explore the ancient ruins of the Greek city of Metaponto and the Roman city of Heraclea. The area also offers Sassi di Matera: Marvel at the Sassi di Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its unique cave dwellings carved into the rock.

One offer is to be able to admire the iconic Trulli houses of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with their distinctive conical roofs. Also, you’re never far away from the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Sea, such as Polignano a Mare and Otranto. We’ll be jealous if you go. Let us know.
