Welcome to Just Room Enough Island, sort of. Easy to get to? No. Easy to stretch out and relax? No. But do you want to go there. YES! Can you go there? Only if someone invites you. Also, another slight hitch: you’ll need some form of watercraft to get there and back. “Just Room Enough Island”, or alternately, Hub Island, is a place that certainly has our interest piqued.
So what is this all about? Just Room Enough Island is known for being the smallest inhabited island, which appears to be around 3,300 square feet (310 m2), or about one-thirteenth of an acre. Purchased by the Sizeland family in the 1950s, the island has a house, a tree, shrubs, and a small beach. You’ll need to be friends with the family in order to sit back and relax in the spacious 310 m2 garden, though. You’ll also need to know how to operate a power boat or similar to even be able to hook up. It’s not for the timid, and certainly not for the uninvited. But, doesn’t it look like fun? Oh yes! You may not be able to stay, but there is still lots to do nearby.
If you’re truly minted, you can always waltz by in your fine seacraft to view the gorgeous Boldt Castle.
