Sorry. Couldn’t resist that pun, especially when you find out what happened to us, and it’s kinda big. NASA has welcomed us into its group of affiliates. Above and beyond being part of their exciting and mind-blowing world, we also get to share all things NASA with you, as well
If you have been hiding under a (space) rock and aren’t aware of who put humans on the moon, that would be NASA. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government responsible for the civil space program, aeronautics research, and space research.
And it’s inclusive. Established in 1958, it succeeded the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) to give the U.S. space development effort a distinct civilian orientation, emphasizing peaceful applications in space science.
It has since led most of America’s space exploration programs, including Project Mercury, Project Gemini, the 1968–1972 Apollo Moon landing missions, the Skylab space station, and the Space Shuttle.
Those are no small beans. Most kids (like us) squeal with delight when NASA is mentioned, or, even better, when the opportunity to get up close and personal with a rocket. And, NASA is inclusive when it comes to astronauts.
So, bottom line, if space is the place for you, stop by the site often and see what’s happening with NASA. We’re over the moon about this! How about a Kennedy Space Center Admission. tour? Click here to book.
