Hey kids, it’s Ponce de Leon

We are forever, tirelessly looking for new content, ideas and things for you to do. It’s a lot of un, as we unearth things that we would never have imagined. This is one example: Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.

First, how many people, let alone children know, recall or remember Ponce de Leon from your history books? And who would even think that a Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park seems to be even more of a stretch in these TikTok, Instagram ADHD times. So, when this option came up, we had to know more. According to the proprietors, The Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park is a privately owned 15-acre park in St. Augustine, Florida, located along Hospital Creek, part of the Intracoastal Waterway.

The park is situated on the site where Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon is fabled to have landed in 1513 while searching for the legendary Fountain of Youth. This makes it a place rich in history and legend, providing a unique educational experience. That was a big deal back then, and even now there are worshipers who look for a modern equivalent.

All jokes aside, what Ponce de Leon achieved basically set North America – and places like Florida – especially, to bring civilization to what once were lone tribes. If you (and / or your kids) are into real history, this is actually a must see. Our affiliate friends Tiqets have tickets for this learning experience. Click here to book.
