Antalya? I’ll tell ya!

It’s always interesting (to us, anyway) when a location / potential travel destination bubbles up to the fore and all of a sudden, pokes us in the arm and says “hey look at me!” Even though we’ve been so fortunate to travel to most corners of the planet, one that we’ve missed out on is Antalya, and this is something we’ll rectify soon.

So, why Antalya? First, it’s located on Turkey’s southwestern coast, often referred to as the Turquoise Coast due to its stunning blue waters. Right away, that sounds relaxing, intriguing and interesting to begin with. The region boasts numerous beautiful beaches such as Lara Beach and Konyaaltı Beach, as well as stunning waterfalls like Düden and Kursunlu.

Once you drag yourself away – kicking and screaming – from the beaches, and find yourself outside of the cities, Antalya is home to several ancient metropolises, including Perge, Aspendos, and Termessos, which offer a glimpse into the region’s rich historical past. And, the people of Antalya are known for their hospitality and welcoming nature, enhancing the overall travel experience. It’s a thinking traveler’s dream. And it can be yours.
