As old as Moses’ toes

. . and twice as corny. Quick quiz. What is the oldest country in the world? This question could easily end in fisticuffs if we weren’t all calm and measured people. But the question stands and the answer is just as vague as the question. Obviously, we need a baseline with which to start. Are we discussing this on the Establishment of a Continuous Civilization or Culture?

Or something different? You might think that Egypt is often cited as one of the oldest, with a civilization dating back to around 6000 BCE and a unified kingdom established around 3150 BCE. A good guess. Next, Iran Boasts a continuous civilization for over 6,000 years, with ancient kingdoms dating back to around 3200 BCE. Next comes the Indus Valley Civilization which flourished around 2500-1900 BCE, with evidence of communities existing much earlier.
