Boom!

If you’re sad that you never got to fly on the Concorde, your future may be brighter with this news.

Breaking Travel News reports that American Airlines has ordered 20 of Boom Supersonic’s Overture planes, with an option for 40 more. Overture is estimated to fly up to 80 passengers in an all-business class cabin at a top speed of Mach 1.7. The company, which already has a prototype, recently redesigned the jet for better efficiency and reduced noise.

In June 2021, it partnered with United Airlines, which ordered 15 of Boom’s $200 million aircraft, Overture, with an option for 35 more. The deal is worth $3 billion. (read more here courtesy of Breaking Travel News and Boom.)
