My train is late. By six decades.

Nothing succeeds like success. And nothing feels like success when the people get what the people want. And there is nothing even better than when our governments hear, listen and leap to action. And here is a heartening tale of exactly that: when a government delivers (in this case, a train service) – albeit 60 years after it was promised. And it’s not like this was some small tumbleweed town we’re talking about. No, we’re talking about Washington DC, and Washington Dulles airport. That’s not small potatoes.

The biggest expansion by miles in Washington Metro’s history is concluding with the opening of the final stretch of the Silver Line. This finally takes trains into Washington Dulles, the area’s international airport. Dulles joins almost 20 U.S. airports offering direct rail access, with a terminal reachable by walking and not a people mover or bus. Huzzah! See more, below, courtesy of The Washington Post.
